The Hispano-Danish Chamber of Commerce joins the Madrid Platform business ecosystem – the first ever international business HUB between Europe and Latin America

- The initiative was presented to the Hispano-Danish Chamber of Commerce at noon on December 21 via a webinar session. The partnership is an opportunity for creating real synergies and promoting cooperation and understanding between institutions and companies in Denmark and Spain and those in Europe and Latin America, and fostering growth and expansion for SMEs in both regions.
- Madrid Platform is organizing an event (physical, semi-virtual and completely virtual) for May 2021 and is emerging as one of the main levers of the economic reactivation plan envisaged by Madrid City Council, which is actively supporting the project as Official Partner.
- Madrid Platform already has the active support of Madrid City Council and the airline Iberia, the latter as a strategic partner. In addition, numerous European Chambers of Commerce, as well as the Euroamérica Foundation and the Organization of Ibero-American States have signed up.
Madrid, December 21, 2020 | MSH Global, through the company Madrid Eventos Congresos y Convenciones (MECC) and the Hispano-Danish Chamber of Commerce, have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at fostering cooperation ahead of the event “Madrid Platform”, scheduled for May 2021. The partnership seeks to promote both the public and private sectors in the Ibero-American world.
The Hispano-Danish Chamber of Commerce sees this new alliance as a real opportunity. Not only does the project – which seeks to connect SMEs and European and Latin American institutions – embrace a wide and diverse range of sectors, but it also enjoys the strategic support of Madrid’s City Council, which seeks to position the capital as a key business hub for the different regions of the country, boost the city’s international presence, and foster its potential for growth and exports.
The president of the Hispano-Danish Chamber of Commerce, Marianne Koefoed, presented the Madrid Platform initiative via webinar. She was joined by the Director of Madrid Investment Attraction, Daniel Vinuesa Zamorano; the President of MSHGlobal and Director of Madrid Platform, Carlos Morales; and the COO and representative of Brandarmies Spain, Jorge Rivera. The Spanish Association of Business Friends (Asociación Española de Amigos Empresarios) also took part in the meeting.
The Hispano-Danish Chamber of Commerce thus joins the thriving ecosystem of SMEs and institutions that Madrid Platform is nurturing with the goal of promoting Madrid as a bridge between Europe and Latin America and a meeting point for business.
Madrid Platform is envisaged as a new way of doing business and of connecting companies across borders and sectors. The project seeks to connect more than 500 companies from Europe and Latin America to explore real business opportunities through personalized one-on-one meetings, rounds of presentations for emerging companies and active networking events. The event will also bring together leading experts to hear and explore their views on the future of companies, institutions and society as a whole, as we embrace the so-called “new normal”, while at the same time creating synergies between SMEs in Europe and Latin America at a time of social distancing. To further the Platform’s aims, the organization is preparing a mixed-format event (physical and virtual) for May 2021. The goal is to foster a conversation among experts and leading players around the main issues of interest on the global agenda and, specifically, aspects that directly affect Ibero-American countries.
During the presentation of the project by Madrid’s City Council on October 7 (read report), the Deputy Mayor, Begoña Villacís, explained that the project “was already part of the City Council’s reactivation strategy” and that Madrid “needs to become the best city in the world to work in” and become a benchmark for the generation of business ideas in the new post-COVID-19 business world.
The collaboration agreement
The agreement enables companies associated with the Hispano-Danish Chamber of Commerce to gain access to one of this year’s most innovative and visionary business events, and one which enhances Madrid’s position as a cultural, institutional and business hub between countries and continents.
Companies associated with the Hispano-Danish Chamber, like all those participating in Madrid Platform, may now avail of special benefits, including during registration and a wide range of business meeting events. What’s more, all associated companies may now join the exclusive Madrid Platform database. The agreement also aims to promote engagement between people, institutions and companies from both continents and cement Madrid Platform as a truly international event.
According to the terms of the agreement, the Hispano-Danish Chamber of Commerce, with a track record of 40 years fostering the revitalization of the Danish-Spanish markets, will contribute to promoting the event, will organize and host meetings and will bring an invaluable Iberian perspective to this Ibero-American gathering. The Chamber will, in essence, act as a link between companies and institutions in Spain and Denmark in order to open up new business opportunities for its members, as well as promote Madrid Platform as a major international event.
As published by the Hispano-Danish Chamber of Commerce on its Linkedin profile,
“Today, we learned more about Madrid Platform which, with more than 50 top-tier participants already signed up, seeks to foster and inspire new business opportunities worldwide.” The Chamber of Commerce lauded the commitment of Madrid’s City Council to supporting Madrid Platform as a strategic lever for economic recovery, and one that will position the city as a bridge for companies and institutions from Europe and latin America.
The Director of Madrid Platform, Carlos Morales, said he was convinced that the participation of the Hispano-Danish Chamber of Commerce will be of great value to the companies and other institutions who are teaming up with Madrid Platform to promote the city as an International Hub and natural meeting point for businesses. Morales then personally invited the Hispano-Danish Chamber of Commerce to participate actively in the 3,500 meetings that are expected to be held over the course of the event and which, by all estimates, “will have a success rate of more than 60% in terms of business outcomes”, as well as the event program to which the Hispano-Danish Chamber of Commerce may actively contribute by leading some of the wide range of activities on offer.
